Superior performance test winner! Contender completed the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1987 - and showed his exceptional talents here for the first time. With a jumping index of 147 points, he showed what a top jumper is. He won the overall ranking with 133 points - in a field of 45 participants. Contender had also shown remarkable dressage talents in the HLP with a dressage value of 118 points. Which certainly also come from his father Calypso II, who produced excellent show jumpers as well as dressage horses. This double disposition also enables Contender to sire both excellent dressage horses and outstanding jumpers. And this in series. 6,246,429 million euros in winnings, no one else has that much! Contender was licensed in 1986 and won the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1987. He is the most popular stallion in the Holsteiner Verband. Particularly successful offspring were Checkmate (M.Michaels-Beerbaum) and Montender (Marco Kutscher). Contender's hereditary potential can be ascribed to the special genetic makeup of Calypso II on the one hand, and to the special genetic makeup of his dam Gofine on the other.
